LWMS

Every confirmed woman who is a member of Good Shepherd is also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS). Fifteen WELS congregations form the Chicago Area Circuit which meets every spring and fall to learn about missions.

 

Mission Statement: "LWMS is women dedicated to serving Jesus by increasing awareness of, interest in, and support of the mission outreach of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS)." As WELS women we believe that Jesus was speaking to each of us when he directed his disciples to "...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 To this end we freely give of the time, talents, and treasures with which God has richly blessed us.
